I initially started the blog out of pure necessity. After years of trying every diet known to man and a series of weight fluctuations, I had once again found myself staring down at the scale, totally disappointed and confidence deflated. But that weigh-in was different from all the rest; disappointment instantly turned into disbelief, then frustration. I was not only the heaviest I had ever been, but for the first time I could actually feel how unhealthy I had become. That’s the moment I decided to swear off diets and focus on making a sustainable lifestyle change… because clearly, the weight was no longer just a cosmetic issue.
When I started the blog, I learned to put the focus on mind and body nourishment first. With a commitment to a more balanced lifestyle, consuming wholesome foods, and engaging in consistent exercise, I started to see some great results. I couldn’t remember the last time my energy levels where so high, and I even accomplished a 30 pound weight-loss without having to count calories, points, or depriving myself of entire food groups.
